| PES has just beed released in the UK and asia.. im not sure about america/canada..
its worth checking out milanfan..
truth be told... one of my friends bought it.. played it.. and said fifa was a bit more fun.. but becuz the rest of the ppl here only play PES.. he's gonna have to adapt.
i think its like any other PES game... like the other versions.. when theyre released we says theyre HARD... boring.. complicated.. but once we get the hang of them.. we enjoy them

| Yeah, 360's d-pad is shit. Think it was designed in mind for changing weapons and stuff rather than moving. Having said that, i always used to play with the d-pad on playstation versions but with the 360 it seems so much more logical (and easier) to use the stick. It might be the positioning of it again. i.e. the stick on the 360 is in the general area the PS d-pad would be.
My housemate went to town at 9am to get it today, played it for around 3 hours straight. It is a bit difficult in the final third but the play and animations are a hell of a lot more realistic. The pace has slowed down a bit too, more akin to FIFA actually. But i like it.

But this was all SP. I haven't even looked at coop as i don't know anyone with a 360 which has cod 4.

| Yeah, arcade mode is unlocked.
They're essentially all one off missions with time limits as far as i can gather.
As for coop...not sure if it's online but if it is it will be in the multiplayer section.
Alternatively if it is there you will have to do it with two people in the same room via split screen rather than over the internet.

| A Sony PlayStation 3 (PS3) firmware update on Dec. 18 offers a nice Christmas gift for all loyal PS gamers. The console now allows PS1 gameplay via PlayStation Portable (PSP) Remote Play.
This means PS1 games loaded on the PS3 hard drive can now be played via wireless connection or the Internet on the PSP. PS1 discs can also be played. Because of this new capability, your classic PS1 games can be played anywhere in the world using the PSP via the Internet. To use this cool feature, you need to update your PS3 to the 2.10 firmware, while the PSP must have the 3.72 firmware or later versions, the latest of which, 3.80, was likewise released on Dec. 18.

| Sony yesterday added more new features to the PlayStation 3's through a firmware update, less than a month and a half after it added a remote-start option and information bar, among others.
Topping the list for many in the PS3's firmware update 2.10 is the introduction of DivX and VC-1 video-playback technology. Last month, DivX Inc. revealed that its proprietary file-compression format -- which has gained popularity for transmitting media files over the Internet due to its ability to balance quality with low bit rates, leading to smaller file sizes -- was already active in the PS3 software-development kit version 2.0. Earlier this month, the autumn update to the Xbox 360 added similar functionality. The PS3's firmware update also upgrades the console's Blu-ray Disc drive, which bumps the player up to Profile 1.1 and adds picture-in-picture support as well as other features. Update 2.10 also adds a voice-changer feature, which lets users change the tone of their voice in both voice and video chat. Sony's flagship console wasn't the only system to receive a firmware update today. The Japanese giant also updated the PlayStation Portable's firmware to version 3.80. The primary new feature added as part of update 3.80 is Internet Radio, which lets owners of the portable access "thousands of stations in a wide range of diverse genres." The PSP update also allows all original PlayStation games to be played using the PS3-to-PSP Remote Play function. This applies to all original PlayStation games downloaded over the PlayStation Network and some spun using the original PS game's disc on the PS3.

| Yeah, you're probably well aware that last week's PlayStation 3 firmware update 2.1 delivered support for the DivX video codec, but you probably weren't aware of something else; something almost hidden beneath the surface. As Gamasutra learned, there's a brand new space-themed music visualizer that comes with firmware 2.1, and it lets you see the motion of music in a whole new way. If you've got a horde of new CDs from your Christmas haul, perhaps you'll want to try this out, because there's nothing cooler than a space theme, right? Perhaps the days of the American public being obsessed with space travel are long gone, but that doesn't mean the great black beyond isn't beautiful and mysterious. This new tool was created by Q-Games (they developed PixelJunk Racers), and PR manager Duncan Flett said it actually enjoyed an initial stint as the boot sequence for the PS3. The Gamasutra article also tells us that all that gorgeous texture data came from the NASA Blue Marble project - we're on it, ya dopes - so space fans, it's time to blend music with the vastness of space! So if you've downloaded the latest firmware update (and you should've by now, industrious gamer), go find this sweet little feature and test it out. | |

| TOKYO, Jan 10 (Reuters) - Sony Corp said on Thursday it would stop shipments of PlayStation 3 models with 20- and 60-gigabyte (GB) hard disk drives in Japan this month, focusing instead on the 40-GB model.
Sony said that this does not mean the 40-GB machine will be the only model available in Japan and that it will launch new models to respond to end-user preferences. (Reporting by Kiyoshi Takenaka)

| A Sony official has reportedly confirmed Cross Media Bar access during PS3 gameplay to be announced later this year. Nascent gaming website TVG is reporting that Sony representative Paul Purdy quietly confirmed in-game Cross Media Bar access for PS3 at this week's CES. Purdy denied a specific date, but said the feature is coming this year. The Cross Media Bar is the graphical user interface of the PS3 operation system and is not available during gameplay, unlike the Xbox 360 which lets owners quickly access messages and game invites during play. A Sony representative declined affirmation of Purdy's claim on Wednesday when contacted by GamePro, saying, "we haven't made any announcements on future PS3 features." | |

| Hi, I'm a Mac, and I'm a PS3. Let's be friends!
With tech getting as good as it is these days, it's really good to see companies aren't leaving our favorite Mac's out of the picture when developing new products and software.
Nullriver has released their Medialink for PS3 software that let's your Mac and your PS3 become best wired and even wireless friends (with the PS3's built in wireless adapter). With full iTunes and iPhoto integration, and the ability to stream HD video right to your living room, PS3/Mac owners will be watching home movies, listening to music and showing off their vacation photos in beautiful high definition in no time flat! Medialink supports a variety of formats including MP3, WMA, WAV, MPEG1, MPEG2, MPEG4, H.264, AVI, WMV & ASF, DIVX, JPEG, GIF, PNG, TIFF, BMP and a whole bunch more! The best part about all of this, is that you can get Medialink for PS3 for the bargin price of $20.
