| Sony are all over the place. I hate this console war where there's so many different versions of a console. 360 is guilty of it too.
I got a 360 premium before the elite came out but would have much preferred an elite had it been available and i would have preferred a PS3 with a bigger HD than my current 40gb if it were available but isn't.
Pisses me right off. | |

Pisses me right off. erm... one word Ebay sell it.. even if you lose a bit of cash... if you're THAT desperate for a new console. the sooner you sell it.. the less likely you'll lose a lot of money off it

| I'm not that desperate/stupid...that's what annoys me more, lol.
Plus, if i sold the 360 i'd lose the HD and all the game data.
I think the only PS3 model available in the UK now is the 40gb, they took all the other models off the shelves for some reason.

| hmmmm... i think it just went into 2nd gear.
sony have something coming... otherwise they wouldnt remove the stock 60GBs off the store shelves.
i dont know what more they could do or add to their consoles ( besides extra hard disk space )
by the end of 2008... i wouldnt be surprised if we end up with a 120GB or 240GB ps3

| They should have just stuck with one model. No confusion. I miss the old console wars...a simpler time. | |

| Resistance 2 unveiledUS magazine Game Informer has the scoop on the unveiling of inevitable PS3 sequel Resistance 2. The game is the cover story for the magazine’s February issue, and - according to the information on the front cover - it is set to include a number of new features including sixty-player online battles and eight-player co-op campaign. Interestingly, it also says "two full campaigns". Whether this will be two entirely differentcampaigns remains to be seen, although it could equally be a similar-but-modified campaign designed for up to eight people via the online co-op. We enjoyed the first game, although felt the campaign was a little too generic, and it was left to the impressive online mode to elevate the game from mediocrity. It seems that in the sequel you will again fill the boots of Nathan Hale, and from the magazine cover, it appears likely the Chimera may have reached the US. If this early information is to be believed, developer Insomniac Games appears to be trying to push the PS3 further than anyone else. Rumour has it that the aim is a release by the end of the year - we'll be waiting to bring you all the coverage. Why not have a look at our review of the original Resistance: Fall of Man. | |

| Now that is one hell of a game and worth spending your money on...I still play resistance online from time to time...and co op mode with freinds...and having a sequal is a MUST... i just wish that we can use connectable electronic game guns and connect it on ps3, or wirless weapons that would be extreme.. | |

| PlayStation 3 owners who have taken advantage of a feature that allows you to install Linux on their game console can now play PC games on their PS3s thanks to an application offered by StreamMyGame.
There are a few catches though that may limit StreamMyGame's appeal to only the most dedicated of gamers. My advice, don't rush out to buy Crysis just yet.
The StreamMyGame application only works if the game is actually running on your PC. The service converts a game running on the PC into an audio and video file, and then streams that file to a PS3 running Linux. What this means is that the PS3 is not actually running the game - rather it is just helping the game be display on a TV or monitor other than your PC.
Here is a catch. You'll still need to use your computer's mouse and keyboard to play the game, since the game is actually still running on the PC. A wireless keyboard and mouse might come in handy here.
Here is another catch. StreamMyGames is charging you to do all this. A version of the StreamMyGames application that supports HD quality video will run you $20 a year. A free version that supports 640 x 480 resolution is free.
To me, the StreamMyGame service seems fairly useless. It's a neat parlor trick, but really with the application you're still playing a PC game on a PC - just viewing the game action on a TV instead of a computer monitor. If there was a way to actually run a PC game with the PS3 system I might be interested. But for now I'll stick to playing PC games on a PC, and PS3 games on my PS3.
The StreamMyGame Web site provides several step-by-step tutorial videos on how to stream your games.

| The PS3 version of Lost Planet from Capcom is apparently getting some exclusive content over the [color:5bcf=#99CCFF ! important][color:5bcf=#99CCFF ! important]Xbox [color:5bcf=#99CCFF ! important]360 release of the game. The PS3 version of Lost Planet, according to Famitsu in Japan, is going to be getting a brand new exclusive character in the game. The exclusive character will be Snow Pirate Luke and will be a playable character. This addition of a new exclusive character to Lost Planet brings the number of playable characters in the game up to 5.

| Launch of white PlayStation 3 revealedAfter enjoying success with its ceramic white PlayStation 3 console in Japan, a new report reveals Sony is now planning to launch the console elsewhere. Originally released in Japan in November, the white PS3 features a 40Gb hard drive and one white DualShock 3 controller. A report by GamesIndustryhas found filings at the Federal Communications Commission stating that Sony is to launch the console in North America after NPD data revealed the games giant sold almost 800,000 PS3 consoles in the territory in December. The news comes as rumours suggest Sony may consider releasing the machine into other countries where its original PlayStation 3 has been successful, including the UK and Europe. | |
