See, you'll be playing Barry out of position. It's like with Gerrard, just creating a position so they can all play. The best you'll get out of him is a central midfield partnership with Gerrard. And yes, you've highlighted a problem, you really need wingers. You guys suffered against sunderland because you just attacked directly down the middle. Easy to defend against.

true .. so i guess its baffling why rafa's still after central midfielders, and not trying to get any wingers..

if thats true ..... i can totally understand why rafa would wanna sign him.

but jeeeez.. plz dont sell xabi.. the guy's a class act. he was injured last season and he seems to be getting back to his top form now.

Yeah, i suppose, but i look at those positions as 'Football Manager Positions'...so, not really a basis on reality. He would be a waste of anywhere other than central midfield. He doesn't have pace, so why play him out wide?

And besides, he'd be much better in the centre of the park with Gerrard so as to help boost their understanding of one another for England.
