things are unusually quiet ... wenger wanted that russian number 10... but if chelsea are involved, id say its a safe bet he's going blue.

Even if he doesn't go i'd still like another striker.

Apparently we've been linked with Hunteelar.

Also apparently, Chelsea have pulled out of the chase for Arshiven, but i don't think he would have gone anyway, coz he wants to play for Barca. I hope Arsenal don't pay the £20mil Zenit want for him, he is 27 after all...

Arsenal still need one more striker and one midfielder if they want to compete.

No names come to mind though

Yep,

At one point last year it was alos evident that they lacked depth. And they still do...

it depends on how many injuries they get this season.... if they can keep their major players healthy.. they're definitely hard to beat.

Well, with the lack of depth they live with they will need to be awfully lucky on the injury front.

That said, their first XI is as good as any in the EPL

yeah...

im looking forward to see what nasri has to offer..

and more importantly, how wenger develops this youngster... who has all the skills to be one of the best footballers around, just needs a bit of tune up, and who better than the professor to help do that?

Smile

yeah i read about that... not sure if rafa would let him go.

i mean, he's been performing as good as any other midfielder, and definitely reaching his peak (unless another injury stumbles him again)

i personally dont see him leaving..

the whole barry saga was misunderstood and misinterpreted by the media.

rafa needs him because we dont have anyone covering the left side at the moment.

not because barrys better than xabi.

-------------------------------------------------------------

anyways.... pool and arsenal are off to winning starts.... though both played horribly bad.

Well, it looked like Rafa was trying to offload him this summer to boost the old finanaces. It was Juve a couple of months ago. You've already got 3 players in that position so i think there's a good chance he will leave. Personally i don't really want Xabi, he's quality and all but i'm dubious as to where he will fit in.

Nasri however looks good, i took a gamble and stuck him in my fantasy team, seems to have paid off Razz

you cant go wrong with nasri.. i'd go as far as saying he might be your top scorer this season, and not adebayor. lol

you know what.. come to think of it, i think youre right.. xabi just might leave. im not too happy about this. we have nobody GOOD ENOUGH to replace him. plessis was a joke. lucas is a weakling. and mascherano cannot pass the way xabi does.

on another note:

why dont they show match of the day on the iplayer? copyrights?

Hmm, don't know, maybe try after the weekend?

Apparently Xabi wants to leave now, as Rafa's move for Barry was so highly publicised. Heh, Alan Hansen said that Barry was a better player than Alonso, bit harsh i think...

both are good players in their own right....

barry on the left .. and xabi more of a DM with beckhamesque accurate long balls.

If you want Xabi, Gerrard, Mascherano and Barry in midfield you'll have to sacrifice a striker, and i don't think you want to stick half of your £46mil strike force on the bench.

I will chastise you if you say 'play Gerrard on the right'!
