Juventus 1 - 1 Inter

The old guard’s heart

Juventus F.C. Official Thread - Page 2 F_The%20old%20guard%20s%20heart235110635afd4e-4fe0-4e40-acec-67a67934e51
Ranieri relied on the old guard and the old guard repaid him. League
leaders Inter Milan couldn’t win at the Olimpico and had to settle for
a 1-1 draw. After Inter went one up with Cruz at the end of the first
half, Buffon kept the Bianconeri in the game with his saves and then
Camoranesi equalized after 78 minutes, thanks to a Iaquinta pass. It’s
the first home draw of the season for Juventus, but this point allows
them to stay in the running, still four points behind the Nerazzurri.
After a year and a half plus 15 minutes’ wait (the Nerazzurri arrived
late at the Olimpico and obtained a short postponement), at last it was
time for Juventus vs. Inter Milan.
The big match, so full of meaning in itself, also had an important
role in terms of the League standings. A great feat was asked of
Ranieri’s men, to stop the League leaders and shorten the gaps in the
table, with things having become even more exciting after Fiorentina’s
victory and Roma stopped by Empoli thanks to a great Giovinco goal.
Juventus’ Manager relied in great part on the whole guard. Nedved was
back, Del Piero and Trezeguet played up front, and duos confirmed in
defence (Legrottaglie-Chiellini) and in midfield (former Inter Milan
player Cristiano Zanetti and Nocerino); Camoranesi started from the
bench, Palladino on from the start. For Inter Milan, Ibrahimovic played
next to Cruz. The beginning was explosive. Inter Milan earned a corner
and a dangerous free kick but Buffon only had to punch the ball away.
Juventus had a much more dangerous chance thanks to former Inter player
Cristiano Zanetti, who received the ball inside the box and shot at
goal, but the ball was deflected by an opponent who put himself in
front of the midfielder.
The Bianconeri were determined on every ball and after 9 minutes
referee Rocchi booked the first player, Nocerino, who had fouled twice
in the space of a few seconds. After 16 minutes, Legrottaglie did well
to stop a shot by Cruz. One minute later, Nedved chested the ball down
and then shot wide with his right foot. The Bianconeri also went for
long-range shots; both Cristiano Zanetti and Nedved again tried, but
the ball went high in both cases. Del Piero’s free kick after 24
minutes was a lot more dangerous, forcing a deflection from Julio
Cesar. The middle part of the half was favourable to Juve, who
controlled the game and had more possession. When Inter Milan went on
the attack they found Buffon and the defenders closing down every time.
But then they found a way through with Cruz who entered in from the
middle and scored with a right-footer. The end of the half saw the
Nerazzurri dominating and Chiellini and Legrottaglie had to struggle to
stop Ibrahimovic: so ended the first half. There were no changes during
the break and the Bianconeri went on the attack from the kick off, but
it was hard to find a way through Inter’s defence. Trezeguet tried to
get the ball to Del Piero but the defenders closed on them. After 53
minutes, Palladino tried a run on the left and crossed for Trezeguet,
who shot high over the bar. Inter Milan scored the second, but
Cambiasso was offside when he slotted in picking up Buffon’s parry, so
the goal was disallowed. Ranieri played the Iaquinta card: he replaced
Nedved, not at his best tonight and also booked. Mancini replied by
putting Burdisso on for Figo, who had physical problems. The newly
entered player was immediately booked for a foul on Cristiano Zanetti.
After 68 minutes Ibrahimovic had a great ball but Buffon saved
miraculously. Ranieri then replaced Del Piero with Camoranesi too. The
Italian-Argentinean was immediately in the thick of things; he went
past a couple of defenders and passed to Iaquinta, who crossed for
Trezeguet: Julio Cesar saved. Buffon had to make a much more difficult
save on a Suazo tap-in from five yards out soon afterwards. Nocerino
tried a shot after 77 minutes: Julio Cesar saved on the ground. This
was the prelude to the goal. Ranieri’s substitutions proved to be
inspired when Palladino crossed for Iaquinta to head down towards
Camoranesi, whose deflected shot ended in the back of the net.
Juventus’ Manager then tried Zebina too, in place of Grygera. Mancini
then had to replace Maicon with Dacourt. But the draw satisfied both
teams at that point and nothing else happened before the final whistle.
The final result was 1-1. The title race is still open and the
Bianconeri are more than ever in the running.

Comotto: Del Piero Is A Money Grabber

Torino captain Gianluca Comotto has unleashed an incredible attack against
Alessandro Del Piero, saying he only signed a new contract with
Juventus when the club came up with the money.
During an interview with La Stampa, Comotto, who is a product of the
Torino youth-team, was asked which players in Serie A he regarded as
club symbols.

“Except for Francesco Totti, I don’t see any club symbols in this country,” Comotto stated.
“Del Piero doesn’t count as he only renewed his contract with the Bianconeri when no other side offered him the same money.
“Totti, by contrast, made a choice to reject all other teams even if they offer more money.”

Comotto was also asked if he harboured hopes of working his way into
the Azzurri squad at some time in the near future. “There are not
that many right-backs in Italy,” said the 29-year-old.
“There is Oddo and Panucci, the latter is a great player but he is getting old.

“It troubles me to see players getting called up to the national
team when they only play four to five good games consecutively. If I
played for a Milanese or a Roman squad maybe I would have more chance
of getting chosen.”

Whoooooo ???

I guess its just another loser trying to use the fame of such players as Del Piero and Totti to get his name to be noticed .. its so obvious it makes me laugh .. Del Piero is not a symbol of Juve ? lol .. i think the cold weather in Torino is having an effect on this guy ..

Symbols = Del Piero , Maldini , J.Zanetti, Totti

Buddy's on some crack to ever think he would even be considered to be call up by the NT. If he was on milan or roma he wouldn't even be on the bench. He would be up in the stands eating popcorn. Just because he gets paid chocolate chip cookies to play football doesn't mean he can attack other people. DP took a pretty big pay cut if you ask me. Overall over 50% over 2 years. I guess him attacking DP doesn't have anything to do with us beating them this year and that they're one of our biggest rivals?

Juventus To Bid For Peter Crouch?

Juventus are set to make a £10m bid for Liverpool striker Peter Crouch, according to the Daily Mail.
The giant marksman, who scored England’s winner in the 1-0 friendly
win against Austria last night, has featured sparingly for Liverpool
this season.
Reds boss Rafa Benitez is ready to let Crouch go during the January
transfer window, providing interested parties meet the 26-year-old’s
£10m price tag.
Juventus Coach Claudio Ranieri is a huge admirer of Crouch from his time spent managing Premiership club Chelsea.
The Bianconeri already have a good blend of strikers in their
first-team squad in the form of David Trezeguet, Alessandro Del Piero,
Vincenzo Iaquinta and Raffaele Palladino. However Ranieri believes that
Crouch’s huge frame will offer them more of an aerial threat.
In other transfer news, Argentine midfielder Sergio Almiron could make a January move to AEK Athens.
Almiron has been hugely disappointing since signing from Empoli in
the summer and currently finds himself behind Cristiano Zanetti,
Antonio Nocerino and even Tiago Mendes in the centre-midfield pecking
order.
AEK are prepared to spend €8m to bring the 27-year-old to Greece.

Nedved Recommends Fenin

Juventus
are lining up a bid for FK Teplice striker Martin Fenin, following a
glowing recommendation from Czech compatriot Pavel Nedved.

Fenin was one of the stars of this summer’s FIFA U-20 World Cup in
Canada, scoring three goals for the Czechs, including one in the final
against Argentina.
According to Tuttosport, Juventus veteran Nedved has told the club
that Fenin is one of the most promising players in Europe and that they
must not hesitate in snapping him up.
The 20-year-old hitman is available for around £4m and Teplice are said to be willing to do business as early as January.
Fenin, who has also won two caps for the Czech senior side, is also
of interest to Premiership duo Arsenal and Liverpool, with Gunners’
boss Arsene Wenger said to be a big admirer.
This is not the first time that Nedved has advised Juve to buy a player from the Czech Republic.
A few years ago Arsenal’s Tomas Rosicky and Osasuna’s Jaroslav
Plasil were also recommended by the 35-year-old but the Bianconeri
opted against a move for either player.

I think Lamps would be a terrific addition .. i admire the fact that he gives 110% effort in every game and that what Juve need , players with the winning mentality .. Frank Lampard is Juve material for sure

Now lets go for Riquelme before Inter complete their non-italian squad by signing him

A Dominating, and I mean DOMINATING, performance today against palermo. Goal scorers were: Trez, iaquinta, DP with 2, and marchionni (good to have him back after the injuries). In a 5-0 thrashing. DP played well from the bench today. Scoring a wonderful FK goal and a PK, he also set up marchionni's goal. By far, our best performance of the season. It's a good thing too because we play milan next week.

there would be no point in getting lampard and than getting riquelme. Plus I'm pretty sure he's about to re-sign with boca.

requilme is a bit of a gamble really... too mentally unstable... unless he's in a perfect environment, with the team revolving around him.. like in villarreal... which i dont think will happen with juve.. i dont think he'll succeed

lamps on the other hand is an interesting proposition... i dont think he can adapt in the serie a .. BUT having said that ... the manager is Ranieri.. and he knows lamps..

so we'll wait and see

If inter win tomorrow playing away against fiorentina then the title is as good as there's, but it will be a tough task. I think fiorentina might beat them. We should catch up over the next couple of weeks just by looking at who our opponents are.

u guys need to think realistically

theres no way you're gonna win the scudetto when you just bumped out of serie b ..

the team needs more players...

the youngsters need more games to adapt..

if juve finish 2nd... i'd celebrate

cuz then you could REALLY think of winning the scudetto next year.

but if u start to slide to 3rd.. 4th.. or even 5th position.. ranieri might get sacked

As for me I don't have the "hate" for Juve. I really respect this team the one team I really don't like is Inter this the only team I hate. This season is very interesting and complicated, Milan are struggling Viola is very strong. I would predict smth like this for 1st Inter [sad but true :(] 2nd Viola/Roma 3rd Viola/Roma 4th Milan/Juve 5th Milan/Juve.
I really miss Juve in C.L. ;D

We lost to empoli mid week in our coppa italia match 2-1. Giovinco put on a show, the kid is going to be amazing. Can't wait till next year. Legro and DP were are only real starters that played this game. Raneri didn't even call up trez, cammo, chiellni, buffon, etc. Raneri decided to start our subs so they could "prove themselves". The only thing they proved is that they can't work together. Who would of thought that a midfield that hasn't never played together before wouldn't work? The idiot started marchionni- almiron-tiago- and sali. On paper that's a good midfield but when you realize that tiago and almiron have never played together before it's a terrible midfield. Almiron got a yellow and then bitched at the ref so the ref sent him off. That's when we were already down 2-0. Thankfully DP played an amazing ball to iaquinta for that away goal. I think we can beat empoli 1-0 at home. Terrible game, terrible performance, terrible coaching.

hey, u got bigger fish to fry... the coppa italia isnt exactly a big competition... no use in wasting enegry on it... let the youngsters have a go at it...
ranieri is kinda reminding me of wenger... his team was young/shit for the last couple of seasons par henry their leader, and before him viera

but look at them now

a bunch of kids ... leading the EPL !

i expect the same from ranieri

especially with teams like milan playing with a bunch of senior citizens..

you'll bare his fruits in the next couple of years.
