Quite effective. Barca use it too. Only Difference to the barca tactic, is the fact that i take a 4-4-2, Drop one striker to a AM/CF role, But no central, like just move him dwn, so he is a LCF and the ST is a RS. And i pump up my wingers up to Wing roles. Works nicer then the usual 4-2-3-1

| My tactics are quite simple, Attacking (in between middle and All out attack)
Play Torres uptop, (Target man supply: Torres = RUN ON TO BALL, Others = Mixed)
Passing style, either Direct or Short passing (depending who is in CM and who is striker)
Width : FULL
Closing down near full
Defensive line : if using Agger and Hobbs or Arbeloa : Pused up if Carra just a lil pushed up, if Hyppia just under halfway (all depends on speed of CB's)
Counter: YES TIGHT MARK: YES ZONAL DEF.
wingers? Pennant, Gerrard, Babel, Benayoun and Babel all play on wings for me.

| Direct is early balls straight up to attack, thats good with quick players, espec with quick tempo, as it means your making a quick attack at goal.
where as short passes are passing slowly around till a gap is open, thats good with a creative midfield with a decent striker with good finishing, speed not necessary.
Short passing = Good finishers Direct = Quick Foward
