| Actually the NT team I root for is Holland (when you come from Canada, you gotta root for somebody else, if you want your team to win against somebody other than Belize or St-Kitts). Can't say I've been very impressed by their win. As we've discussed before, Spain's win against Italy is totally meaningless. To my great dismay, I have to admit I'm impressed by France's play and depth, although I'm surprised they still rely on Thuram and Makelele. Romania beats Russia 3-0, and without Mutu scoring. Group of death it will be for sure.... | |

| yer.. thuram.. makalele.. viera.. their keeper, whats his name.. coupe..
these guys are nearing their expiry dates.
nevertheless, the manager seems to know what he's doing.. in a cup competition you need experience.
i expect half the team to retire after the euro games.

| what do you mean MAYBE? ;p you honestly believe that they'll be playing in the next world cup?!!
i think IF raymond doesnt win the euro cup.. he'll be replaced, along with 50% of the french squad.
only question is... WHO will replace him?

| Actually, I think that whatever happens at the Euro, 50% of the actual squad won't make it to WC 2010, there's a lot of older legs there: Coupet, Thuram, Makelele, Viera, Henry, Trez (provided he makes the squad), plus other slightly younger but expendable guys like Saha, Cisse. And then there are guys like Gallas and Sagnol, great players who should still be around in 2010, but that are old enough to be doubtful anyway. In fact, you could almost make a starting 11 of almost retired players..... | |

| My heart's with Holland, but Italy and Germany have to be seen as favorites at this point. I like Portugal's chances too. I have an itch that Spain might finally do somthing right this year, but they always find ways to lose, so I'm not putting any money on my itch | |

| I really like Germany and Holland. Those will be the teams I cheer for. If Scotland or the 3 Lions would have made it, I would be cheering for them.
I honestly think Germany has a legit chance at winning.
